When the Sony PSP was first launched, it was touted as a all-in-one
lifstyle electronic gadget and a killer gamig system. With the ability
to play games, movies, music, networking and viewing of images it
appeared as they have lived up to thier marketing hype. However,
utilizing all these features was not a easy task. on launch the PSP
did not come with a USB cable to connect you to your PC and there was no
software to convert media from PC formats to files the PSP could read.

Now, while some companies have developed software and hardware to make
using your PSP for what it was initially intended much easier ( Like
Madcatz Accessories or PSP Video9 ), Sony has released the PSP Media
Manager to assist in using this great system.

The PSP Media Manager is a great on stop software solution for
transferring files from your PC to the PSP
and in some cases adding the ability to stream content from the web.

The PSP Media Manager supports a variety of formats including .mp4,
.avi, .mpg, .mov, and .wmv for video files, and .mp3, .wav, and .wma for
audio. Image formats supported include .bmp, .jpg, .gif, .png, and .tif.
Other features include a utility to back up game saves on the PC,
as well as a way to find and subscribe to RSS feeds, including podcasts,
video blogs, and magazines formatted for the PSP.

The PSP Media Manager comes with a USB cable to transfer files from your
PC to the PSP, some sample media and five free song downloads from the
Sony Connect music store.
