Maneet Puri,
Most search engine pay great attention and emphasis to the Meta
description for evaluating the relevancy of you webpage. Hence the
following are some of the most commonly practiced search engine dos and
don’ts on how to create a proper Meta description tag:
- The length of the Meta description should at least be 200 characters
and it should not exceed the 250-character limit.
- The most targeted keywords should be placed in the very beginning of
the Meta description as the search engine bots tend to prefer the same.
It should also contain all the targeted keywords in it.
- The Meta description should be grammatically making sense to the
visitors and enticing enough to be click by the visitors.
- The Meta description should be offering a brief and clear idea about
the page it is written on.
There should be good keyword density of all the targeted keywords in the
Meta description tag. A healthy density enhances the relevancy factor of
the Meta description.
